Your Search for a Vizsla Puppy

If you're looking for a pet Vizsla, you might consider adopting one from a Vizsla rescue organization.  There are nice Vizslas in need of a home.   Maryland/Virginia/DC area rescue Vizslas are occasionally available at Conestoga Vizsla Club Rescue.  You can expand your search by looking at rescue across the country.  More rescue contact information can be found here.

Please don't purchase your Vizsla puppy from a backyard breeder, puppy mill or a pet store!  Before seeking any breed of puppy we recommend that you read about how to identify a Responsible Breeder.  Responsible breeders are guardians of the breed.  We breed with health and temperament as a priority.  We also breed with a goal of maintaining and improving natural ability and correct conformation. We abide by the Vizsla Club of America "Breeder Code of Ethics".  We are also recognized as an AKC "Breeder of Merit".

Vizslas are very unique dogs.  They are not the right fit for everyone, but are the perfect fit for some.  Vizslas are first and foremost hunting dogs with a lot of drive and desire to work.  They make wonderful companions that not only love to be a part of your active lifestyle, but who also love to cuddle on the couch.  They require a lot of attention, which gave them their nickname of the "Velcro Vizsla".

Please take time to do research and educate yourself on the breed before inquiring about puppy availability.  If you are bargain shopping, the Vizsla may not be for you.  Be prepared to pay between $2000 - $3000 for a puppy from a responsible breeder.  There are two good breed-specific books that we recommend you read: "The Versatile Vizsla" by Marion Coffman, and "The Vizsla" by B.C. Boggs.

We are pleased to be part of the American Kennel Club’s Breeder of Merit program.
